My nightly self-care routine

Every mum should have some sort of daily self care routine, that helps her relax and de stress. As we all know that being a mum can be pretty stressful, and it can be really hard to find the time for you. The time that you need to recharge your batteries to enable you to be able to tackle what the days ahead may bring.

This week is half term so it’s even busier than normal, I’ve been running around trying to keep a 5 and 2 year old entertained. So believe me when I say that, come 8 o’clock once they’re tucked up in bed I will be putting my feet up with a glass of wine and popping something good on the TV. There is where a Panasonic HDTV comes in handy!

I’ve always been pretty strict with my girl’s bedtimes, so just after 7 is bath time, and then story time and they are both normally in bed by 8 o’clock.

I have 2 main reasons for this routine:

  1. Because I believe it’s good to get them into a routine
  2. I need some time for myself

Having a couple of hours to yourself can really make the difference and here’s why:

  • Daily self care lowers your stress levels
  • Resets your emotions
  • Improves your state of mind
  • Promotes positivity in your life

As a busy mum it can be hard to find the time, but it is so important to make the time. It doesn’t have to be on a daily basis, but do try and set a couple of evenings a week, where you get the time you need. Self Care is about replenishing and refreshing your inner self in different ways.

Set a date with yourself, what ever makes you happy, do that!

Plan it, pick a movie, get your favourite snacks in and just switch your mind off and relax.
